Historically speaking, I don’t know of any empire that lasted for ever. There are always the rich times, filled with richness and glory, and down times, with less resources and defeats. On Orion’s Belt this also happens. Those familiarized with Orion’s Belt History already know that. Even on this new version we can see that. At one time or another there were an alliance that ruled the universe. We can remember CUS and Cosa Nostra from the old days. And on this version Prophets of the Revolution, ALPHA and System Lords have been on front and quite powerful, and have fallen to lesser positions.
This weekend, while the System Lords admirals were not at the command of their fleets, two of the System Lords officers turned against them and joined the Death Squadron and attacked the only System Lords relic left. This is specially interesting because these two traitors were an important rebel force against the Death Squadron. I dare to say that at this moment the Death Squadron alliance is the most powerful ever seen on this version of Orion’s Belt. System Lords can’t really complaint about their members, seen that the alliance has a history of betraying its allies. And now, an alliance that once had 8 relics, now fights for the last one…
The balance of power may seam on Death Squadron’s side. They are a lot, very well organized, and with great zone control. But every time that one alliance becomes two strong, it has to deal with several problems:
- Internal problems: many members means a lot of stuff to handle; it’s hard to keep all the members happy, specially when there’s bounty to share
- Being the first means that all the alliances focus on that one alliance
It may be difficult to reach number one. But it’s even more difficult to stay there for a long time.

Well, since I was pinned,I feel like I have a few words to say.First:great way to setup the link for the Browser Games Forum 2009 .:D
And I dont feel like a traitor, because there wasnt an alliance to be betrayed, there were 2 guys,me and powerlite, playing the game, there were you two admirals, not even saying a word in ally forum and the rest on vacation or inactive or not even replying to messages of their own interest. So whats the point of being in there? I ve already told to alot of other players,I was this close of stop playing.I hope now I’ll have some motivation to keep playing

You were massacred by DS now you join them, it feels like greed to me, I would rather join another alliance and get my revenge but that’s me… But the funny thing is that numbers can be important but quality and military power is also important =)

Maybe you have forgot or didnt know that, by a cheesy scheme,I had 2 relic impossible to be attacked? Im getting less income now,so dont talk about greed. My first ally here was DS and I left them because there was no communication, they evolved to be an alliance,so seemed only natural

You’re getting me wrong greed in terms of power not income =)

a big question when stone age runned to DS, he didnt lose his relics, or am I wrong? So do the relics belong to the player or to the alliance? The effort put by the team to get a relic can’t be left behind if a player leaves the alliance the relic should be given to an admiral of that alliance and a timeout of 16 hours to defend it… what happens to the player’s relic fleets? unless he takes them out they’re destroyed, my opinion what’s yours?

yes it was something we did not know. By looking at the way the game displays the relic, i told stoneage that he was surely that the relic is owned by the player, he is the guardian. I think stoneage took out his forces, but he did tell me he didn’t lose nothing, so i don’t know if took them out or not. Your right reborned, its a team effort but also the player is the guardian, he has loses. And if that player doesn’t have a alliance, who gets the relic than? And another think we are switching player in the relics, how do we do it? we exclude a player from the alliance, conquer it and than join him again. There are some tweaks need around the relics, theres other questions but i can’t reveal our secrets

reborned, when I RAN and hide myself in DS,first I left only 1 ship in the relic, because I didnt know if 1 single player without alliance could have a relic, since if you dont have alliance you cant attack the relics, but i didnt lose that one ship.Oh and you are wrong about me,i dont eager for power,I just got tired of playing this game barely alone

I have to say this, tsousa today promoted stoneage to vice-admiral and stoneage demoted himself to sargent. I think this says it all. We are happy to have you stoneage.

About relics: the player is the _owner_ of the relic, not the alliance. When a player changes alliances, the relic goes to another alliance. If a player doesn’t have an alliance, he keeps the relic, but won’t gain any income. You need to be on an alliance for that.
It may be unfair for the alliance that helped to get the relic, but we made this so that betrayals and loyalty are more important.

First time at the gazette and I see myself called traitor. So sad…
As sotneage allready said We where the only 2 active members of the SL alliance and I tried many times to make others participate. I even recruited a new active member. I First belonged to DS and only left it for SL because Mawhrin-Skel at the time was giving me many tips on how to play the game. I told Danceman at the time Why I was leaving. And as Stoneage becoming bored of the game at rank #3 (for whatever the rank counts) I got the invitation from danceman as an opurtunity to get back with a smile on the game. Hope it all goes well for everyone!

PowerLite, don’t take the traitor personally, it’s just game lore!
Like I said to you, we at the system lords will always be less active, you did well to go for another alliance. I just preferred if you went to another one.

No prob reborned, we know how you are ;). I felt sad when they left us, but believe me, i never stop talking with them, and even when a member of our alliance attacked stoneage, he asked me first what he should do, and it was me who said to him to fight. Yes i like the OB community and we have to fight to show other members this is a game and we most be friends at all times. Many times i heard our members say the enemy, and i always said to them, i don’t see no one in this game like a enemy but more a obstacle to our objective. Nothing more. Lets not be like other online games and try to always be friends and not call names, keep your honor fellow warriors
